How do you want your promotion to work?

On Toggle there are a few options available to decide how you want your promotion to work.

  1. What offer type do you want to offer - discount or added value?

  2. In what way do you want the offer given - as a percentage or fixed value?

  3. How do you want it applied at the checkout - automatically or as a promo code?

Read on to find out what they mean:

Discount ✂️

This is a classic type of offer.

Your promotion can be set as a discount which can either be a percentage discount (e.g. 20% off) or a fixed value discount (e.g. £10 off).

The customer who is buying your gift card will be the beneficiary of this type of promotion because they are the one paying for the gift card at the discounted rate.

E.g. If you have a 20% off promotion and a customer selects a £50 gift card on your online shop, they will pay £40 for it and will receive a £50 gift card.

Added value 🔝

Think of this as a 'freebie' or a free top-up to the gift card's value.

Your promotion can be set as an 'added value' which can either be a percentage (%) added value (e.g. 20% value added) or a fixed added value (e.g. £20 added value).

If the person buying the gift card is gifting it to someone else, it's the person who receives the gift card as a present will be the main beneficiary of this type of promotion because their gift card will have more value on it for them to spend.

E.g. If you have a £10 added value promotion and a customer selects a £50 gift card on the your online shop, they will pay £50 for it but will receive a £60 gift card.

Special Offer

This option means your promotion is automatically applied at the online checkout.

Promo Code

This option means your promotion requires the customer to enter a promo code at the online checkout.
