Offering the ability to sell gift cards in-store can really boost sales. If you're using POS Mode (rather than a till integration), you can sell digital cards, blank physical cards, or physical cards with numbers pre-printed on them. We'll take you through how to do each of these. For each of these, you'll first need to access Toggle POS Mode and click Sell a gift card.

Selling digital cards

On the drop down, select which gift you'd like to sell. The items and values shown are the same items on your webshop. If you want to change these items, log into your Toggle dashboard and edit / add items as you would for the webshop. Select Digital and press the right arrow key.

Ask the customer what email they'd like the digital gift to be sent to, and input it into the box. It's wise to double check with the customer the email address is correct. Press the right arrow key.

The next screen shows you the payment you need to take on the till. Take payment from the customer using your normal methods e.g. via your card payment device or in cash. Once this payment has been taken, tap Confirm payment has been taken to enable you to tap the right arrow to proceed.

If you're issuing a card free of charge, tap Issue this card free of charge. This will then present a screen for you to give a reason for issuing a FOC (free of charge) card. This could be something like 'gift', 'prize' or 'customer service'. You can then proceed to the next screen.

Ask the customer if they'd like an email receipt. This is an optional step. If it's the same as the delivery address for the gift itself, tap This is the same as previous gift email. Press the right arrow to proceed.

You're all done! Tap Finish to return to the home screen.

Selling physical cards in-store that don't have numbers pre-printed

Once you've selected the gift, tap Physical and click the right arrow.

The next screen shows you the payment you need to take on the till. Take payment from the customer using your normal methods e.g. via your card payment device or in cash. Once this payment has been taken, tap Confirm payment has been taken to enable you to tap the right arrow to proceed.

Ask the customer if they'd like an email receipt. This is an optional step. If it's the same as the delivery address for the gift itself, tap This is the same as previous gift email. Press the right arrow to proceed.

The last screen shows you the code and the PIN that you need to transpose onto the card itself. Transpose this onto the card carefully, and it's wise to double check the number and PIN. Click Finish to return to the home screen.

Selling physical cards in-store that have numbers pre-printed

Tap Sell a gift card, and you'll be shown the screen to choose what product the customer would like to buy.

The next screen shows you the payment you need to take on the till. Take payment from the customer using your normal methods e.g. via your card payment device or in cash. Once this payment has been taken, tap Confirm payment has been taken to enable you to tap the right arrow to proceed.

Take a card from your stock in-store, and enter the card number shown on that card on this screen. Press the right arrow when you're done.

Ask if they'd like a receipt email. This step is optional. Press the right arrow.

And you're done! You can now hand the card over to the customer.

Turning off 'Sell a gift card' on POS mode

If you don't want to sell gift cards on site through POS mode, you can turn this option off on your Toggle dashboard.

Go to settings > general and scroll down to Show 'Sell a Gift Card' button in POS mode?. You can turn this option off or on here.
