When you are setting up a digital gift card for your Toggle shop you will have an option to allow your customers to schedule when the digital voucher is sent out.
This is great for customers who want their voucher sent on a future date e.g. for someone's birthday.
Note: This feature is only available for digital vouchers and not physical gift cards.
How do I turn this feature on?
When you are creating your gift card on the Toggle dashboard (on the Shop section) you'll see on the configuration page the option to click 'yes' or 'no' to the prompt "Allow guests to schedule email delivery".
If you click 'No' this means your customers can only send their digital voucher immediately after they successfully pay for it at the online checkout.
If you click 'Yes' this means your customers have a choice to either sent it immediately or on a future date of their choosing at the online checkout.
How does this feature look for the customer?
When at the checkout page, customers will see there's an option to have a delayed delivery if they select the Email voucher option, like shown below.
After selecting Email and clicking 'Add to basket' and 'Checkout' they will see the option of when to send their digital voucher - 'now' or 'set a date'.
Picking the set a date option will prompt them to pick a date and time.
View and edit scheduled emails
On the Toggle dashboard, go to Purchases > Orders and search for the Order number that you want to check whether the email has been scheduled/sent for.
If there are multiple cards on that order, you will see a status for each individual voucher whether it’s pending or sent and if the email has been sent or is scheduled.
You can also check the date and time of when the email is scheduled for and amend it if needed. On the Order screen, click on ‘View Card Details’.
If you want to update the date and time of the scheduled email (see at the bottom of the screen), you can by clicking on ‘Edit Scheduled Delivery Date’ button in the top right corner of the Card Screen and a new table will pop up:
In here you have two options:
You can tick ‘Remove schedule and send now’ and press ‘Update’ which will then send the email right away (within the next 5 min).
Or you can just amend the current date that is set for the scheduled email and set it to be sent sooner/later if needed.
How do I edit the email address for an order made on a scheduled send?
If the email address needs to be edited, at the moment this is not possible to do. You will need to:
Cancel the order
Refund the customer on your payment gateway
Ask them to re-order with the correct email address
