Summary

Depending on what you sell, you might need to apply a tax to those products for your own reporting. In the UK, this will most commonly be VAT.

A the moment you can add a sales tax to Tickets, Retail Products, and Pay-It-Forward products.

How do I create a sales tax on Toggle?

  1. Log in to Toggle

  2. Click on Settings > Sales Tax

  3. Click the blue Add sales tax option button

  4. Add a name for the tax

  5. Set a % rate

  6. Click yes to 'Set tax option live?'

  7. Click the green 'Add' button

How do I add the tax I created to a product?

  1. Log in to Toggle

  2. Click on Shop (on the dashboard sidebar)

  3. Click on a product that can have tax applied e.g. a ticket

  4. On the 'Sales Tax' drop down select the relevant tax for that product

  5. Press the green 'Save' button (if prompted after saving, click the 'save changes and update existing orders' option)

How does this sales tax look for us?

Your guests won't see any change in the checkout journey, but your reporting will show how much tax that has been applied to any given product.

To find out how much sales tax you need to pay, you can find out the % per order on the Orders report and the Order Line Items report.

How do I delete a sales tax I created?

  1. Log in to Toggle

  2. Click on Settings > Sale Tax

  3. Click the 3 dots to the right of the tax you want deleted

  4. Click the red 'Delete' option that appears

  5. Click the green 'Delete tax' option

How to I make a sales tax inactive without deleting it?

  1. Log in to Toggle

  2. Click on Settings > Sale Tax

  3. Click the on the name of tax you want deleted

  4. Click 'No' to the Set tax option live? prompt

  5. Click the green 'Edit' button to save changes
