Getting started
When the Toggle Gift Card module is configured (See here), you’ll see additional buttons on the screen. The positioning and naming of these buttons are configurable at setup, so may differ to the below;
Gift Card Balance
Redeem Gift Card
Reload Gift Card
Issue Physical Gift Card
Issue Digital Gift Card
These features are also optional, so they may not all be visible based on your business requirements.
The Oracle integration supports;
QR code scanning (if your POS supports / has a scanner)
Magstripe (if your POS supports)
Gift Card Balance
To check a gift cards balance, select Gift Card Balance
Scan / Swipe or enter the card number via the input device
A response will be returned to you, either confirming the card is valid (and showing its balance) or stating the card number is not valid / cant be found.
Redeem Gift Card
To redeem an active cards balance, once there products have been added to the POS - select Redeem Gift Card
Scan / Swipe or enter the card number via the input device
You will be asked to enter a value (Note, this cannot exceed the maximum amount of the basket, or the maximum amount on the gift card).
Confirm
This will now adjust the balance on the POS and adjust the Toggle gift card.
Reload Gift Card
To Reload an active cards balance - select Reload Gift Card
Scan / Swipe or enter the card number via the input device
You will be asked to enter a value, and confirm.
The balance adjustment will now be added to the POS, and require payment to be taken from the guest.
Important
The balance is added at the point of confirming the amount, not at the point of payment
Issue Physical Gift Card
To issue a physical gift card - select Issue Physical Gift Card
Scan / Swipe or enter the unsold physical card number via the input device
You will be asked to enter a value, and confirm.
The balance adjustment will now be added to the POS, and require payment to be taken from the guest.
Important
The card is activated at the point of confirming the amount, not at the point of payment
Issue Digital Gift Card
To issue a Digital gift card - select Issue Physical Gift Card
Scan / Swipe or enter the unsold physical card number via the input device
You will be asked to enter the guests Contact Email, a card value and confirm.
The balance adjustment will now be added to the POS, and require payment to be taken from the guest.
Important
The card is activated at the point of confirming the amount, and the guest will be emailed instantly - not at the point of payment confirmation.
Applicable to all journeys
Tender vs Discount
If a card has been loaded with Discount (i.e. was not paid for by the customer), then Toggle will tell your POS at the point of redemption - The POS will then apply this payment as a Discount on your till, providing the discount payment type was setup and configured.
This helps you clearly identify which payments are Tender or Discount, which will aid with VAT.
Void Payments (Reversals)
If a transaction is voided for any reason on the POS, the transaction will also be reversed on Toggle - meaning any balance removed / card sold will be reversed.
