Note: If you are editing the expiry date of a gift card that's already expired you must also "reverse breakage" to fully reactivate it - scroll to the bottom of this guide for more details on that part.

Quick Summary

Here's the steps to edit an expiry date:

  1. Log in to your Toggle account

  2. From the sidebar, click on Purchases > Orders

  3. Find the gift card you want to edit and click on it

  4. Now click the "View card details" button

  5. Click the "Change Expiry" button

  6. From the drop down menu select the best option and then click the green "Update Expiry" button

More details

After logging into Toggle, from the sidebar click on "Purchases" and then "Orders" (you can also click on Purchases > Cards tab to locate the order you're after).

Use the search filters provided to help find it, if needed.

Once you find the order, click onto it.

Click on the "View card details" button like shown below.

Now you will see a "Change Expiry" button to click onto.

You'll be presented with three options:

"Extend expiry date by"

Which let's you add X number of days from the date the gift card already is set to.

"Expire card on"

Which let's you set a specific date to expire the gift card on.

"Remove expiry date"

Which removes the expiry date completely so that the gift card won't expire at all.

After editing it, you will see the new expiry date on the same page you're on, as shown below.

If you have other gift cards you want to edit the expiry date of, just repeat the above steps for each respective gift card.

How do I inform customers about their new expiry date?

Besides letting them know by email or telephone, you can advise them to enter their gift card code and PIN on the "Check Balance" button found on your Toggle shop and this will tell them their current balance and also the expiry date.

If the customer has a digital voucher, the original expiry date will still show up on their email, so you could re-send them their digital voucher by using the "Send digital copy" button, so they see the updated expiry date.

Can I edit multiple gift card expiry dates in one go?

Yes - if you have lots of expiry dates to edit, you can instead use a different method to bulk-update them. This guide has the details: Extending the expiry date of live cards.

The gift card I have extended has already expired?

After you have extended the expiry date, you will need to "reverse breakage" to reactivate the gift card with the balance it had just prior to it expiring.

If you don't do this the gift card will still have a Β£0 balance.

This part requires a bit of extra work to do, and it's outlined in this article here: Reactivating cards that have expired.
