How to create a custom gift email for a specific gift card

Toggle's digital gifts use a default template, but you can customise each one.

  3. Scroll down and click Add custom email

  4. Customise the message for recipients

The existing text that's on the default Gift emails section on your dashboard will pull through to here - just add to or edit the text as needed.

Below is an example of creating a custom email for a digital gift card we have called Birthday Voucher. In this case, weโ€™ve adjusted the subject line and some of the wording in the email to make it more personal for someone receiving the gift for their birthday.

When the voucher lands in the guest's inbox, it'll look like this:

What if I don't create a custom gift email?

The buyers or recipients will get an email with their redemption code along with the text and any call-to-action found on the 'default' Gift email in your dashboard's Customise section.

What types of products send the gift emails?

Guests who buy a digital gift card or digital experience will get the default gift email (or custom gift email).

Anyone buying a retail product, ticket or pay-it-forward will not receive a gift email since those product types do not require a voucher code to redeem them.

Should I create a custom gift email for all my digital products?

You don't have to - you can simply set up the default gift email (Customise > Gift emails) and have your guests receive that same email for all digital gift cards or experiences they might get (the product name and image will still pull through for the specific gift, but they will all get the core text in their email, like the instructions and subject line etc).

If you create a custom email, the buyer or recipient will receive that instead, with tailored details like a subject line, call-to-action button or redemption instructions.

How do I set the product image for the custom gift email?

The first product you upload on the product config on the Shop section of the dashboard will be the one that pulls through to the email the customer receives.

How do I edit a custom gift email?

  1. On the Toggle dashboard click onto the product on the Shop section of your dashboard

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and then click the blue Edit custom email button

  3. From there you can make your edit as needed

  4. Click Save when you're done

How do I remove a custom gift email?

  1. On the Toggle dashboard click onto the product on the Shop section of your dashboard

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and then click the blue Edit custom email button

  3. From there click the red Remove custom email button and then click Delete custom email
