How to send a free ticket (FOC) from the Toggle dashboard

Learn how to send someone a free digital ticket from your Toggle dashboard

Summary

  1. Log in to your Toggle account

  2. Go to Purchases > Orders on the sidebar

  3. Click Create new (blue button)

  4. Select a ticket type from the dropdown

  5. Fill out the details:

    • Choose a quantity, value, location and time

    • Use the "Note" field for internal references (e.g. why you're sending it)

  6. Click Add delivery and enter the recipient's email.

  7. Hit Create order - done!

Note that an email receipt will be sent to the user who created the order and the ticket email will be sent to the recipient. You can resend both if you go Purchases > Orders > select the relevant order:

Why use this feature?

Free tickets can be sent for many reasons:

βœ… Goodwill gestures

βœ… Replacing lost reservations

βœ… Rewarding staff

βœ… Competition prizes

βœ… To see how vouchers look

Sending in bulk

Single recipient: If there is a stock limit on the ticket type, you will be able to see how many tickets are remaining and then select a number accordingly. If there is no limit, you can send as many tickets as you want.


Tracking free tickets

The Tickets report found on the Data section of your Toggle dashboard will let you easily track free tickets issued through the dashboard. They will be marked as FOC (Free of Charge)

Also, if you search for an order on the Purchases section of the Toggle dashboard then you can tell if it was issued free of charge from the dashboard if the Sales channel says 'Toggle Dashboard' (like in the example below). Another give away is there'll be no Merchant transaction reference - since no payment was taken through your payment gateway or till.
